Project Sneh
Project SNEH is a purpose-driven initiative dedicated to reducing plastic waste by promoting sustainable alternatives in hygiene care. Our focus lies in replacing plastic-based diapers and sanitary napkins with eco-friendly cloth solutions. By addressing the environmental hazards of single-use plastic products, we aim to create a cleaner, healthier world. Our mission is to reduce plastic pollution, promote better health practices, and ensure a safer environment for future generations through innovative, sustainable hygiene products.
A Journey Towards Sustainability
In 2019, the project took off by focusing on a significant source of plastic waste—disposable diapers. These plastic-based diapers, though convenient, contribute massively to environmental degradation and pose health risks to children due to the chemicals and synthetic materials used. Realizing this issue, SNEH introduced reusable cloth diapers as an eco-friendly alternative. This innovation aimed to reduce plastic waste while providing a safer option for babies, as cloth diapers are free from harmful chemicals.
Building on the success of this initiative, SNEH expanded its efforts in 2023 to address another major source of plastic waste—sanitary napkins. Many conventional sanitary napkins contain plastic components that are harmful to the environment and cause skin infections and other health issues for women. To combat these problems, SNEH launched biodegradable sanitary napkins, offering a more sustainable solution while improving women's health.
Empowering Communities, Protecting the Planet
The mission of Project SNEH is to significantly reduce plastic waste and contribute to a cleaner, safer Earth by promoting eco-friendly alternatives to everyday hygiene products, particularly focusing on cloth diapers and sanitary napkins. At SNEH, we aim to replace harmful plastic-based items with reusable, biodegradable solutions that are both environmentally sustainable and safe for personal health.
Our efforts extend beyond just offering alternatives. We actively engage communities by raising awareness about the detrimental effects of plastic waste on both health and the environment. Through targeted awareness sessions, cleanliness drives, and plantation activities, we foster community involvement in adopting sustainable practices. By encouraging small yet impactful changes in everyday habits, such as switching to reusable hygiene products, we strive to create a cleaner, healthier world for future generations.
A Sustainable Business Model for a Sustainable Future
Project SNEH operates on a hybrid business model that combines social impact with financial sustainability. The project generates revenue by selling reusable cloth diapers and biodegradable sanitary napkins to eco-conscious consumers. At the same time, it engages in awareness campaigns and drives to educate the public on the importance of reducing plastic waste. Profits from the sale of these eco-friendly products are reinvested into the project, supporting further innovations, community outreach programs, and the expansion of the product line.
The project also builds partnerships with environmental organizations, local communities, and businesses to amplify its impact. By collaborating with like-minded stakeholders, SNEH not only promotes sustainability but also empowers individuals to make environmentally responsible choices in their daily lives.
Project SNEH is a shining example of how small innovations can lead to significant positive change. Through its focus on reducing plastic waste and offering sustainable alternatives to everyday products, SNEH is contributing to the global fight against plastic pollution.
